Content Marketing with AI Writing Tools

I saw a video recently of a college professor yelling at his students in class because 50% OF THEM used artificial intelligence to write their essays.

Needless to say, Programs like ChatGPT are here to stay and will make huge impacts for content writing.

The change is good news so long as the content provides value to people. Writing content manually unfortunately takes time, and time is the most valuable commodity a person can have.

Some have estimated that generative AI improves marketing productivity by 5 to 15%.

Some observers, including the authors of a recent McKinsey & Company paper, “The Economic Potential of Generative AI,” believe the technology will help marketers gather data from disparate sources such as databases, social media posts, and even images and synthesize it into usable market intelligence, informing content marketers what they should write, to whom they should write it, and in which languages.

The temptation for writers is to let generative AI do all the work. You can literally use GrammarlyGO, ChatGPT, and Midjourney to produce a 2,000 word, well-written article in less than 15 minutes.

On the flipside, allowing AI writing tools to generate quick articles like this will almost certainly produce a lot mediocre content. Its not perfect… yet.

A better solution is to combine generative AI’s productivity boosters and human guidance.
